Hotel - Las Vegas, NV- Mandalay Bay

The Mandalay Bay is located on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, a short ride from the McCarran International airport. So if you are thinking of renting a car but are planning on staying on The Strip the entirety of you vacation it might be cheaper for you if you take a taxi or a bus to your hotel. This Hotel and Casino is one of my favorites because it is very spacious and luxurious. An excellent choice if you are thinking of taking a trip to Las Vegas.

Customer Service: When arriving at the hotel for check-in we didn't have a reservation. We of course had called to check the rates and availability before hand and had spoken with a manager who was able to offer us the same price for the room as a special we had seen online. A member of the front desk then informed us that we would not be able to receive the rate that we were previously quoted and the best that he could do would be $10 above the previous price. This was a little bit of a disappointment but nothing to fuss about. After checking in we had some other issues with other patrons of the hotel being quite rude by slipping a note under our door. At this point I was not too satisfied with my stay and I asked for a refund. The management did one better by offering us an open suite in the penthouse tower. Very gracious of them. As far as service calls to the room, we called for more shampoo and it was speedily delivered in ample quantity.

Room accommodations: Our first room, the 750 GR, was everything we'd hoped for. Beautiful decor, convenient televisions in front of the bed and one in the bathroom, and large windows with a view over the strip made this room worth the extra $10. The bed was comfortable with it's pillow top mattress, and the selection of teas was a nice touch, and, although they did cost, I was pleased with how well labeled everything was so we knew exactly what the prices were. The large dining table and business area would be perfect for families or business, especially with high speed Internet. The bathroom was beautiful. Double sinks and mirrors so we weren't fighting about who's turn was who's, and the jacuzzi tub was the perfect touch, making us feel like we really got our money's worth. The separate shower was also nice, and the toilet was in a room of it's own making it especially nice for those bathing. There were only minor scuffs and wear on the carpet and large table.
The second room we had, the 1050 SV, was a step up. It included a kitchen, which had a flat screen plasma TV, stove, mini bar and wet bar. The living room also had a flat screen plasma TV, comfortable furniture and reading material. This room also included automatic curtains, which would open or close over the large windows with the touch of a button. Bathrobes and slippers came with it as well, although the slippers would be too small for people with larger feet, about a size 9 for women, size 7 for men. The bedroom also had a large flat screen plasma TV, a BOSE mp3 clock radio which we very much enjoyed, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and a flat screen television, along with double sinks. As far as the soaps and shampoos go, they were all aromatherapy, smelled great, and didn't work too bad either.

Misc Charges: Wet bar and mini bar items. No service charges.

Price: Reasonable. Found the best price online, confirmed over the phone, but be sure to make the reservation for that price. The accommodations were worth the price.
